There is more involved with them than you could possibly imagine, especially if you are unfamiliar with the home-buying process. Below is a guide for both the buyer and seller as to what to bring to your closing appointment.
Buyer:
• Photo ID (driver’s license and one other document)
• Proof of homeowners’ insurance coverage
• Certified funds ( Cashier’s check or certified check if closing costs are $1,000 or more. If closing costs are over $5,000 funds must be wired)
• Power of attorney (approved ahead of time) if the party is not physically able to attend the closing transaction
• Homebuyer’s warranty, if applicable
Seller:
• Photo ID (driver’s license and one other document)
• Termite inspection if applicable
• Power of attorney (approved ahead of time) if party is not physically able to attend the closing transaction
• Homebuyer’s warranty, if applicable
